What should you know about stage 2 liposuction garment?

The label usually refers to a garment used after the earliest postoperative period, when swelling and tenderness have begun to settle. It should provide even support without cutting into the skin, restricting breathing, or causing numbness. The correct garment depends on the treated areas, incision sites, swelling, and your surgeon’s technique. A garment supports recovery but does not remove fat, tighten skin by itself, or replace follow-up care.

Wear it only for the duration your surgical team recommends and follow their instructions about washing, sleeping, bathing, and taking it off for skin checks. It should lie flat, with no folded seams over incisions. Check the skin for pressure marks, blistering, colour change, or increasing tenderness. Keep incisions clean and dry as instructed, stay gently mobile, and avoid changing to a tighter size because swelling makes the garment feel loose or uneven.

Call your surgeon promptly for worsening one-sided swelling, severe pain, bleeding, fluid leakage, spreading redness, or an incision that opens. Remove the garment and seek urgent advice if you have trouble breathing, chest pain, faintness, or a limb that becomes cold, pale, blue, or suddenly very swollen. These symptoms need assessment rather than adjustment of the garment alone.
