What should you know about sprained wrist look like?

After a ligament injury, the wrist may appear puffy around the joint, develop bruising, or be held stiffly because movement hurts. The hand may look unchanged when the injury is mild or deeper tissues are involved. A crooked shape, a new bump, or an open wound is not typical reassurance and can indicate a more serious injury.
