Scarlet fever and heart health

Scarlet fever is associated with group A streptococcal infection and often presents with fever, sore throat, swollen neck glands, and a rough rash. The heart concern is a delayed inflammatory reaction after some streptococcal throat infections, rather than a sign that every person with a rash has heart disease. Symptoms may include unusual tiredness, breathlessness, chest discomfort, a racing or irregular heartbeat, or painful swollen joints.
