Sweat, tight footwear, repeated washing, shaving products, and new creams can irritate the foot. Dry, cracked skin may be asteatotic eczema, while a scaly sole or peeling between toes can occur with a fungal infection. Contact dermatitis may follow exposure to shoe materials, dyes, or adhesives. Atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hives, or a skin yeast infection are other possibilities.
