Red Sun Spots on Skin

Classic Sun Spots are usually flat brown areas caused by long-term ultraviolet exposure, whereas a red mark may reflect irritation, inflammation, a small blood-vessel change, or a different lesion. Sun-Damaged Skin can produce several kinds of colour and texture change. Note whether the spot is new, itchy, scaly, tender, raised, or sharply different from nearby marks. Photograph a changing spot in good light and note when it appeared. Use shade, protective clothing, and regular broad-spectrum sunscreen on exposed skin.
