Red dots on skin that are not itchy

Flat marks after a new soap, fabric, cosmetic, or adhesive can fit Contact Dermatitis. Dryness and fine scale may occur with Asteatotic Eczema or Atopic Dermatitis. A thicker, sharply outlined patch with scale can occur with Psoriasis, while a ring-like or moist rash may need assessment for Skin Yeast Infection. Hives are often raised and change position, so fixed flat dots are less typical. Record where the marks began and whether pressure makes them fade.

Use a fragrance-free cleanser and moisturiser, avoid newly introduced products, and protect the area from rubbing and excess heat. Do not apply steroid, antifungal, or antibiotic creams without suitable advice because the wrong treatment can obscure the appearance. Take photographs and arrange a routine review if the marks persist, spread, recur, or develop scale, blistering, pain, or discharge.

Get urgent medical advice if the spots appear suddenly and do not fade with pressure, spread rapidly, or occur with fever, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, faintness, bleeding, or widespread bruising. A changing, bleeding, crusted, or non-healing individual mark should be examined.

Does the colour fade with pressure? Could a product or inflammatory condition explain the distribution? Would examining the scale, surface, or a sample help choose treatment?
