Rash on Inside of Arms: What to Know

A rash on the inside of the arms may result from eczema, contact irritation, sweat, infection, or a medicine reaction. It may look red, dry, bumpy, scaly, or moist, and symptoms can overlap between causes.

The warm inner arm can react to sweat, rubbing, and products transferred from clothing or hands. Atopic Dermatitis may cause recurring itch and dryness; Contact Dermatitis may follow a new product or fabric. Heat Rash can cause small prickly bumps. Call emergency services for difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips or tongue, faintness, skin peeling, blistering, or mouth or eye involvement. Seek prompt medical care if fever, pus, warmth, severe pain, rapidly spreading redness, or red streaks appear.
