Rash on hands and feet without fever

Dry, itchy, cracked skin can follow soaps, cleaning products, sweating, footwear, or repeated friction. Contact dermatitis often follows exposure and may have a clear edge. Small itchy blisters on the palms or soles can occur with eczema. Fungal infection may cause scaling, peeling, or a defined border, especially on the feet.

Some viral illnesses can cause spots on hands and feet even when fever is absent or has already passed. Chickenpox more often produces itchy spots that become fluid-filled and appear in different stages. A clinician uses the distribution, texture, symptoms, recent exposures, and medicines to narrow the possibilities; the absence of fever does not establish a diagnosis.

Wash gently, dry carefully between the toes and fingers, and use a plain moisturiser on dry intact skin. Choose breathable socks and shoes, avoid scratching, and do not share footwear or towels while infection remains possible. Photograph the rash before applying products. Consider recent changes in soap, gloves, shoes, plants, pets, medicines, or activities, then discuss them with a pharmacist or clinician before using a medicated cream.

Get urgent help for breathing trouble, facial swelling, faintness, confusion, or a rapidly worsening allergic-looking rash. Seek prompt care for purple marks that do not fade with pressure, severe pain, hot swelling, pus, skin peeling, mouth or eye sores, or loss of feeling. Arrange review if the rash spreads, cracks deeply, affects walking or hand use, returns repeatedly, or does not start improving with simple skin care.

Ask whether the distribution fits dermatitis, eczema, fungus, or a viral rash; whether a skin sample is useful; and which treatment is suitable for the exact site. Mention diabetes, poor circulation, eczema, immune treatment, recent travel, and anyone else with similar spots.
