What should you know about rash on face after sun exposure?

Warmth, redness, tenderness, peeling, or tiny bumps can follow direct sunlight, especially after prolonged outdoor time. Sweat and heat may add irritation. A rash limited to exposed skin can also follow a sunscreen, fragrance, plant, or topical product that reacts with light. Some medicines increase light sensitivity; do not stop a prescribed medicine without advice. Atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and contact dermatitis may flare after environmental exposure, but the pattern needs examination.

Move into shade, cool the skin with a damp cloth, and drink fluids. Wash off suspected products gently and avoid scrubs, fragrances, and further sun until the skin settles.
