What should you know about PT exercises for frozen shoulder?

Short answer
PT exercises for frozen shoulder usually focus on gentle, regular shoulder movement that respects pain and gradually restores useful range.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What the exercises target
Frozen shoulder can tighten the capsule around the shoulder joint, causing pain followed by marked stiffness and reduced range of motion. A programme is different from forceful stretching: the therapist considers your current phase, irritability, sleep, work, and ability to use the arm.
Pain with movement can also come from rotator cuff tendinitis or another problem. That is why an examination matters before copying exercises from a video. Shoulder stiffness and joint stiffness describe symptoms, not a complete diagnosis.
How to practise safely
A therapist may teach pendulum movements, assisted elevation with a stick or table, and gentle rotation within a tolerable range. Move slowly, breathe normally, and stop if pain becomes sharp, steadily intensifies, or remains much worse after practice.
Short, consistent sessions are often easier to manage than occasional vigorous stretching. Use heat only if advised and suitable for you. Hydrotherapy may make movement feel easier for some people; a cortisone injection may be discussed when pain prevents participation.
When to seek care
Seek assessment when pain or stiffness limits dressing, reaching, or sleep, or when progress stalls. Get urgent help after an injury with a visibly deformed shoulder, sudden inability to lift the arm, fever with a hot swollen joint, chest pain, or new numbness and weakness.
Questions for your doctor
Does my examination support frozen shoulder? Which movements should I practise, and what level of discomfort is acceptable? How often should I review progress? Could an injection or hydrotherapy help me participate in rehabilitation?

Questions people ask
Should frozen shoulder exercises hurt?
A mild stretch can occur, but sharp or escalating pain is a reason to stop and ask for personalised advice.
Can I force my shoulder to loosen?
Forceful stretching can aggravate an irritable shoulder; a therapist can set a safer range and progression.
