What should you know about Profhilo hyaluronic acid injections?

Hyaluronic acid is a water-attracting substance used in several medical and cosmetic products. A product marketed as Profhilo is not automatically the same as a hyaluronic acid injection placed inside a knee joint. The formulation, injection depth, treatment aim and authorised use can differ, so the product label and clinician's plan matter.

For knee pain related to Knee Osteoarthritis, a clinician may discuss a joint-directed Hyaluronic Acid Injection or other options. These are separate from cosmetic skin injections. Knee pain can also have causes that need examination rather than an injection.

Ask for the exact product name, intended injection site, reason for treatment and expected local effects. Confirm who will inject it, how the product is stored, and what aftercare applies. Share allergies, medicines, skin infection, pregnancy, immune conditions and previous reactions to injectables.

Do not assume that a cosmetic product treats Osteoarthritis or replaces rehabilitation.
