What should you know about platinum skin care peels?

Short answer
Platinum skin-care peels can cause controlled surface shedding, but the product formula and your skin condition determine whether a peel is appropriate.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

- A medical cause of peeling may need assessment first
Why skin may peel
A peel uses an active solution to loosen surface cells. Afterward, skin may feel tight, dry, sensitive, or flaky as it sheds. A branded name does not identify the active ingredients or depth, so the label should be supported by a clear product list and instructions.
Peeling can also come from conditions such as Sunburn, Athlete's Foot, or Psoriasis, and those situations are not automatically suitable for a cosmetic peel. The location matters: facial skin, hands, scalp, and body skin can react differently. Treating an underlying cause may be more appropriate than adding another exfoliating product.
Using a peel carefully
Before treatment, report eczema, psoriasis, allergies, cold sores, recent sun exposure, waxing, laser procedures, retinoid use, and a history of lingering dark marks. Ask the provider to explain the formula, strength, contact time, test-patch policy, and aftercare. Do not combine a peel with other strong exfoliants unless instructed.
Afterward, cleanse gently, moisturise as directed, protect the area from sunlight, and let loose skin shed naturally. Avoid scrubbing, picking, waxing, and fragranced or irritating products while the barrier recovers. Sunburned, cracked, infected, or actively inflamed skin should be assessed before exfoliation.
When peeling needs attention
Contact the provider for worsening pain, intense burning, increasing swelling, blisters, pus, fever, or redness that spreads. Seek urgent help for facial swelling with breathing trouble, severe eye symptoms, or extensive blistering. Persistent peeling outside the expected recovery period also deserves a clinical review.
Questions to ask
What is causing the peeling or the treatment goal? Which ingredients are present? How will my skin tone, medicines, and previous reactions affect the plan? What should I stop before treatment, what should I apply afterward, and when should I call for help?

Questions people ask
Should I pull off peeling skin?
No. Picking or pulling can worsen irritation and increase the chance of marks; follow gentle cleansing and moisturising instructions instead.
Can every peeling rash be treated with a peel?
No. Peeling from sunburn, infection, inflammation, or another condition may need diagnosis and a different treatment.
