Is a plasma pen FDA approved?

Regulatory status belongs to a particular product and a stated purpose, not automatically to a whole category of plasma pens or to every cosmetic use. Request the exact device details and ask who will perform the procedure, what training they have, and which area they plan to treat. Discuss expected skin changes, healing, pigment alteration, infection, scarring, and eye-area precautions. A clinician should review your skin history and explain alternatives rather than relying on a broad approval statement. Treat a vague claim such as “FDA approved” as a prompt for verification, not as proof that a particular cosmetic result or setting is authorized.

After treatment, contact the provider for increasing pain, heat, swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever, or delayed healing. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, rapidly worsening facial swelling, eye pain, or vision changes. Regulatory wording does not remove the need to respond to symptoms.

Ask what the device is authorized or cleared to do, whether that wording covers your planned cosmetic use, where the product information can be checked, and what alternatives fit your concern.
