How to treat pityriasis alba

Pityriasis alba causes lighter patches that may feel dry and show fine scale. It is often noticed on the face, particularly the cheeks, and the colour difference can become more obvious after sun exposure. The condition itself is usually mild, but similar-looking patches may have a different cause. A clinician considers the pattern, surface texture, symptoms, and any changes elsewhere before recommending treatment. Clean the area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free product. Apply a bland moisturiser after washing and whenever the skin feels dry.
