What is another term for measles?

Rubeola is the medical name used for measles. It is different from rubella, sometimes called German measles; the two infections are caused by different viruses. Measles often begins with fever, cough, runny nose, or red eyes, followed by a rash that starts on the face and moves down the body. Swollen glands can occur with many infections and do not identify measles on their own.
