What should you know about nose and chin filler?

A clinician may use filler to create the appearance of a straighter nasal profile, soften a small dip, define the chin, or improve balance between the nose, lips, and lower face. It adds volume; it does not reduce bone, cartilage, or excess skin. The result depends on your anatomy, the product selected, and where it is placed.

Hyaluronic acid filler is a commonly used material that can be assessed and, when clinically appropriate, dissolved by a trained professional. Swelling, tenderness, bruising, or temporary unevenness can occur after injections.

Have an in-person consultation with a licensed medical injector who understands facial anatomy. Share your medical history, allergies, medicines, previous filler, and any history of cold sores or nasal procedures. Ask which product will be used, how much is planned, and what the follow-up plan is.

Avoid making a decision from a photograph alone. Nose injections require particular caution because blood-vessel blockage can injure skin or, rarely, affect vision. A qualified clinician should explain alternatives, limits, expected swelling, and how to contact the clinic after treatment.

Contact the treating clinic promptly for worsening or severe pain, pale or mottled skin, unusual coolness, rapidly increasing swelling, or blisters near the injection area. Seek urgent medical care for vision changes, severe headache, weakness, confusion, or difficulty speaking after treatment. Do not massage a painful or discoloured area unless the clinician directs you.
