Nizoral for face bumps: what to know

Nizoral is a brand associated with ketoconazole, an antifungal medicine. Small, similar-looking bumps around the forehead, hairline, chest, or upper back can sometimes occur alongside an overgrowth of yeast on the skin. Acne, folliculitis, rosacea, contact dermatitis, and blocked pores can look similar but need different care. Itching, flaking, or a flare after heat and sweating may be useful details for a clinician, but they do not establish the cause by themselves.

Do not put a shampoo or gel on your face unless its label or a clinician indicates that use. If ketoconazole is recommended, follow the product directions, keep it away from the eyes and lips, and wash your hands after application.
