Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide drip: what to know

NAD is a molecule involved in cellular energy processes. During an infusion, a cannula delivers a prepared solution into a vein while staff monitor you. The treatment is different from correcting a documented vitamin deficiency, and feeling tired does not by itself show that NAD is needed.

Fatigue can have causes such as poor sleep, anaemia, thyroid disease, infection, mood changes or vitamin deficiency. An evaluation may be more useful than choosing an infusion based on a marketing claim. Vitamin B12 Deficiency and Vitamin D Deficiency require targeted assessment and treatment plans.

Ask who will assess you, what the solution contains, how it is prepared, how long monitoring continues and what medical conditions or medicines affect suitability. Tell the clinician about pregnancy, kidney or liver disease, allergies and previous reactions to infusions.

A licensed clinician should explain alternatives and expected effects without promising a particular outcome. Depending on the diagnosis, options may include an IV Vitamin Drip, Vitamin B12 Injection or Vitamin D Supplementation, but these are not interchangeable without a clinical reason.

During or after an infusion, seek urgent help for trouble breathing, facial or throat swelling, chest discomfort, faintness, severe rash or sudden confusion. These may indicate a serious reaction. Pain, redness, swelling or leakage around the cannula site should also be reported promptly.

Ask what problem the drip is meant to treat, which tests support that plan, what side effects are possible, and how progress will be judged. Ask whether the cause of your Fatigue needs separate investigation.
