Nausea bands in pregnancy

These reusable wristbands are positioned so a small button presses an acupressure point on the inner wrist. They are a non-medicine option and can be used alongside food and fluid strategies. Relief varies, and a band cannot identify why nausea is happening. Vomiting may instead relate to a stomach infection, reflux or another problem.

Follow the product instructions and place the pressure point on the marked area rather than tightening the band excessively. Remove it if your hand becomes numb, swollen, painful, cold or changes colour. Keep the skin clean and check for irritation. Pair it with small, frequent meals, bland snacks and regular sips of fluid. Do not delay prescribed anti-sickness treatment because a band seems convenient.

Seek medical advice if vomiting prevents you from keeping down drinks or medicines, your urine becomes unusually dark or infrequent, or you feel dizzy, weak or faint. Urgent assessment is needed for severe abdominal pain, fever, blood in vomit, confusion or collapse. Pregnancy-related vomiting can require treatment to protect hydration and nutrition.
