Natural breast fat transfer: what to know

The procedure combines liposuction with fat grafting. A surgeon removes fat from a suitable donor area, prepares it, and places small deposits in planned breast locations. It can improve contour or modestly add volume, but the outcome depends on the amount available, breast anatomy, and how the tissue heals. Swelling settles over time, and firmness or unevenness can occur while the grafted area matures. This is distinct from an implant and from injectable facial treatments.

Have a detailed consultation about your goal, donor sites, anaesthesia, scars, breast screening, and whether more than one procedure could be considered. Share medicines, medical conditions, smoking, previous operations, and breast imaging. Follow instructions for wound care, compression, activity, and appointments. Wear only the support garment recommended for your surgery. Protect healing incisions and report changes rather than massaging or treating them yourself. Dermal fillers and lip fillers are not equivalent ways to enhance the breast.

Call your surgical team for fever, worsening redness or warmth, drainage, wound opening, increasing pain, or rapidly increasing one-sided swelling. Get urgent help for chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, or sudden leg swelling. Any new breast lump, skin change, or persistent asymmetry needs examination, particularly after the early healing period.
