What should you know about nail lifting from nail bed after acrylic?

Acrylic application, removal, or an accidental impact can stress the nail plate and its attachment. Filing can thin the surface, while lifting material can trap moisture and create space beneath the nail. Irritation or allergy to nail products may cause surrounding redness, itching, or swelling. A green, yellow, or crumbly change can occur with infection, including nail fungus, but colour alone cannot identify the cause.
