Keep the nail short without cutting into the corners, dry the feet carefully after washing, and use clean personal nail tools. Nail surgery may be considered when a damaged nail needs specific procedural care. Follow the prescribed course even when the nail still looks abnormal; healthy nail growth takes time to replace affected areas.
