Mushroom allergy skin rash: what to know

An immune reaction can affect skin soon after eating, touching, or handling a mushroom. Hives may come and go in different places, while a contact reaction may stay where the skin touched the food or residue. Rash alone does not prove that a mushroom caused it; irritation, infection, heat, medicines, and other foods can look similar.
