What should you know about MMR inactivated vaccine?

An inactivated vaccine uses a germ that has been killed or components that cannot reproduce. A live attenuated vaccine uses a weakened form of a germ to train the immune system. MMR protects against measles, mumps and rubella and is normally discussed as a live attenuated vaccine, not an inactivated one. The vaccine cannot give you measles, mumps or rubella. Mild soreness, tiredness, a low fever or a brief rash can occur after vaccination as the immune system responds.
