What should you know about mk sports massage?

Short answer
Sports massage uses targeted hands-on pressure and movement techniques to address muscle tension, recovery needs and selected soft-tissue problems.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What happens in a session
A practitioner asks about training, pain, movement and recent injuries before choosing techniques. Treatment may include broad warming strokes, focused pressure, assisted movement or work around connected muscle groups. The aim is to improve comfort and movement, not to force a painful release. “MK” may be a provider or product reference, so confirm who is delivering the session and what approach is intended. A muscle strain or contusion needs a different plan from ordinary soreness after exercise.
Preparing and recovering
Tell the practitioner about medicines, bruising, skin problems, recent surgery and any diagnosed injury. Describe the location and character of pain accurately, including whether it travels or changes with walking. Wear clothing that permits access while preserving comfort. Drink normally, take a gentle approach afterward and follow any mobility advice. Massage should complement, not replace, assessment and rehabilitation when weakness, restricted movement or recurrent injury is present.
When massage is not the first step
Do not massage through sudden severe pain, marked swelling, deformity, new weakness, numbness or unexplained calf pain. Seek prompt care for calf pain with swelling, warmth, colour change or breathlessness. Stop a session if pain becomes sharp, symptoms spread or you feel unwell. A suspected tear, significant contusion or new injury may need examination before hands-on treatment.
Questions to ask
Ask whether sports massage is appropriate for your diagnosis, which areas should be avoided, how much pressure is suitable and whether physiotherapy assessment would be more useful. You can also ask how myofascial release differs from the proposed session.
