A brand name identifies the manufacturer, but it does not by itself explain how a tablet should be used. Misoprostol can affect the uterus and cervix and may be prescribed for medical management of miscarriage or induction of labour. The tablet strength, route, timing, and follow-up depend on the reason for treatment. Possible effects include cramping, bleeding, nausea, diarrhoea, chills, and temporary fever.
