Mexican testosterone gel: what to know

Testosterone gels are absorbed through the skin, and products with the same general name can differ in formulation, concentration, directions, and regulatory status. A label in another language or a product bought outside your usual pharmacy may not provide enough information to judge whether it is appropriate. Do not assume that a product intended for men is suitable for a woman.

Testosterone therapy for women may be considered in selected circumstances, with a clinician reviewing symptoms, medical history, other hormone treatment, and possible causes.
