Mesotherapy under the chin: what to know

Under-chin fullness, loose skin, and a skin-quality concern are different problems and may need different approaches. Mesotherapy is a shallow-injection technique, and the ingredients are not automatically the same from one clinic to another. It should not be used to assume that every lump or swelling under the chin is cosmetic; a new, firm, painful, or persistent lump needs medical assessment.

An immediate after image may show injection-related swelling rather than the settled appearance. Improvement may be limited or subtle, and the clinician should explain what change is realistically being targeted.

Tell the clinician about allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, thyroid or neck conditions, swallowing or breathing symptoms, active skin problems, prior injectable reactions, and medicines that affect bleeding. Confirm the exact product, injection sites, expected recovery, and alternatives before treatment.

After the appointment, avoid pressing or massaging the area unless instructed. Follow advice about exercise, heat, skincare, and sleeping position, and monitor the skin as swelling settles. Ask what is being treated, how the clinician distinguishes fullness from loose skin or a medical lump, which product is planned, and what symptoms require same-day assessment.
