Mesotherapy for the face: what to know

The term may refer to shallow injections of a prepared product into selected facial areas. Some plans focus on hydration or skin texture; others are marketed for tone or radiance. These goals are not interchangeable, and the ingredients may differ between clinics. Facial skin can bruise, swell, become irritated, or develop a reaction after injections. A consultation should identify your concern, inspect the skin, and explain why the proposed product fits that concern.

Ask the practitioner to show the product name, ingredients, expiry information, and intended use. Tell them about allergies, active acne or eczema, cold sores, medicines, previous fillers, and immune conditions. Postpone treatment if the skin is infected or significantly inflamed. Plan gentle cleansing and sun protection afterwards, and avoid rubbing the injection sites. Skin boosters are another injectable approach that may be considered when the main aim is skin hydration; they are not automatically suitable for every facial concern.

Get advice if redness, warmth, swelling, tenderness, or lumps are worsening rather than settling. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, widespread hives, severe pain, vision changes, facial weakness, or skin that becomes pale, grey, or dusky after an injection.
