Meline for dark circles: what to know

Meline may be considered for pigment-related dark circles, but it will not correct every cause of under-eye shadowing. A clinician should first distinguish brown or grey-brown colour from a hollow, visible blood vessels, swelling, or the shadow cast by facial structure.

Meline is a professional depigmenting treatment plan used for areas of unwanted pigmentation. It may be discussed when excess pigment contributes to dark under-eye colour. The skin in this area is thin and close to the eye, so product choice, placement, preparation, and aftercare need particular care.

A depression between the lower eyelid and cheek can create a persistent shadow even when the skin colour is unchanged. This is often described as a tear trough hollow. Eczema-related rubbing and irritation can also leave the area looking darker after inflammation settles.
