Is there a permanent treatment for melasma?

Melasma involves pigment-producing cells that can become more active with sunlight, visible light, heat, hormonal shifts, and skin inflammation. A treatment may fade existing patches while those triggers remain. Recurrence does not mean you caused the condition or that treatment failed; it means long-term control often needs repeated attention.
