What should you know about Medi Derma chemical peel?

Peel solutions loosen connections between surface skin cells, allowing controlled shedding and renewal. Formulas may contain acids such as glycolic acid, and the depth of treatment affects the expected redness, peeling, sensitivity, and recovery. A peel is not the same as using a strong household exfoliant.

A clinician may consider a peel for acne, comedonal acne, keratosis pilaris, melasma, sun-damaged skin, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or sun spots. The same concern can need a different plan depending on active inflammation, skin tone, medicines, and previous reactions.

Tell the clinician about retinoids, exfoliating acids, acne medicines, recent waxing, cold sores, eczema, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and a history of dark marks after irritation. Contact the treating clinic for severe or increasing pain, swelling, blistering, oozing, spreading redness, or a marked colour change. Seek urgent help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty. A reaction may need treatment rather than another layer of exfoliation.

Ask which ingredient and depth are planned, what you should pause beforehand, how long sensitivity may last, and when to restart your usual routine. If you have melasma or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, ask specifically how pigment change will be reduced.
