What should you know about measles rash spread?

The rash may start as flat red or reddish-brown spots around the hairline, face, or upper neck. It can then extend to the chest, back, arms, and legs, with separate areas joining together. Fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes, or swollen glands may occur before or alongside the rash. The pattern can suggest measles, but other infections and skin conditions can look similar, so appearance alone cannot confirm the diagnosis.
