What should you know about how many days measles lasts?

After exposure, symptoms may take time to appear. The first phase often includes fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes. A rash can then begin on the face and move down the body. Fever and tiredness may continue while the rash fades, and a cough can linger after other symptoms improve. The exact course differs between people, and complications can extend recovery. Call a clinic before attending if measles is possible. Keep the person at home and away from shared indoor spaces until a clinician advises that normal activities can resume. Encourage fluids and rest, and follow age-appropriate instructions for fever relief. Record the first day of fever, the first day of rash and any change in breathing or alertness. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, blue or grey lips, a seizure, confusion, severe weakness, inability to drink, or very little urine.
