Lump Under the Skin on the Shoulder: What to Know

A shoulder lump should be checked for movement, tenderness, skin changes, and growth rather than judged by location alone. Pressure from a bag strap, clothing, or sleeping position can make a harmless swelling sore. A lump can sit within the skin or deeper beneath it, and that distinction is best made during an examination.
