What should you know about Lumenis AcuPulse laser?

AcuPulse uses CO2 laser energy to vaporise or heat precisely targeted skin. Depending on the plan, treatment may be ablative, fractional, or a combination. The aim may be to resurface irregular texture, soften selected scars, or change tissue in a defined area. The device name does not by itself describe the depth, pattern, or medical indication; those are chosen during assessment.

Treatment can involve topical or local anaesthesia, protective eyewear, and a recovery period in which the skin is red, tender, swollen, or peeling. The treated area and energy level strongly affect recovery.

Tell the clinician about active acne, infection, eczema, cold sores, keloid scars, medications, and previous procedures. Ask whether you need antiviral or other preventive treatment. Arrange the recommended wound-care products before the appointment, keep the area protected from sun, and follow cleansing and ointment instructions exactly. Avoid picking flakes or crusts, which can increase irritation and pigment change.

Contact the clinic for increasing pain, spreading warmth or redness, pus, fever, worsening swelling, delayed healing, or new colour change. Urgent assessment is needed for severe eye pain or vision change after facial treatment, or for breathing difficulty and rapidly increasing facial swelling.
