Viral load is measured from hepatitis B genetic material in blood. A low result suggests less active viral replication at that time, yet the level can change. It must be read alongside liver enzymes, surface antigen, other hepatitis B markers, symptoms, and any treatment. A low level does not automatically mean there is no liver inflammation or no need for monitoring.

Some people with hepatitis B feel well. Fatigue or dark urine can occur with liver illness, but symptoms cannot determine viral load.

Keep follow-up appointments so your clinician can compare viral load with liver function tests over time. Take prescribed treatment as directed and do not stop it without advice.
