Liquid antibiotics can treat some urinary tract infections, but the medicine and dose must be prescribed for your situation. The choice depends on the suspected bacteria, your symptoms, allergies, kidney function, age, pregnancy status, and local prescribing guidance.

A liquid formulation can help people who cannot swallow tablets, but it is still an antibiotic and must be measured carefully. A clinician may request a urine sample, particularly when symptoms are severe, recurrent, or occur during pregnancy.
