Lip and under-eye filler

Lip filler is placed to enhance border definition, volume or balance, while preserving natural movement and expression. Under-eye filler is usually considered for a hollow or shadow caused by a tear trough; it is not a universal treatment for dark circles caused by pigment, visible vessels, thin skin or puffiness. Both areas are delicate, and a hyaluronic acid filler may be selected because it can be assessed and adjusted by an experienced clinician. The product and injection depth must match the anatomy.

Choose an appropriately qualified medical injector who examines your face at rest and while moving. Discuss whether one or both areas need treatment, the amount and placement plan, and whether another option would address the concern more directly. Share allergies, medicines, previous filler and any history of cold sores. Follow instructions about avoiding pressure, strenuous activity and makeup after treatment. Do not massage a tender or swollen area unless your clinician specifically advises it.

Some tenderness, redness or swelling can follow injections, but contact the clinic if symptoms are severe, worsening or asymmetric. Seek urgent medical care for unusual severe pain, pale or mottled skin, vision changes, weakness, trouble speaking or major swelling, because an injection complication needs prompt assessment. Fever, spreading redness or drainage also requires medical review.

Ask which concern is caused by volume loss, hollowing, pigment or puffiness, and whether filler is suitable for each area. Clarify the product, injection sites, expected swelling, follow-up, reversal or adjustment options and the symptoms that require urgent help.
