What should you know about lichen planus skin rash?

Lichen planus is an inflammatory condition. Skin lesions may look purple, reddish or darker than nearby skin, and can have a fine surface pattern. They often occur on areas such as the wrists, ankles or lower back, though other sites can be involved. Scratching may make irritation and broken skin worse.
