What should you know about lichen planus skin disease treatment?

Lichen planus is an inflammatory skin condition that can produce itchy, raised or flat-topped bumps and patches. The appearance, location and symptoms guide assessment; a dermatologist may sometimes recommend a skin sample when the pattern is unclear. Treatment depends on how extensive the eruption is and whether the skin is thickened, scratched or open.
