Letrozole lowers oestrogen production. Some people experience hot flushes, night sweats, joint or muscle aches, stiffness, tiredness, headache, nausea, changes in mood, or vaginal dryness. Symptoms can vary from mild to disruptive and may change during treatment.

Longer-term care may include attention to bone health and cardiovascular risk, based on your personal history. A symptom is not proof that the medicine is harming you, but it deserves review when it persists, interferes with daily life, or appears alongside another warning sign.

Keep a simple symptom diary and bring it to appointments. Include the dose time, symptom pattern, severity, sleep and activity changes, and any non-prescription products used. Your team can then consider supportive measures, tests, or an adjustment to your treatment plan.

Gentle exercise suited to your condition may support mobility, while pacing activities can reduce exhaustion. Choose balanced meals and adequate fluids if nausea allows. Do not stop letrozole, skip doses, or start supplements without discussing the choice with your oncology team.

Seek urgent care for chest pain, sudden difficulty breathing, fainting, one-sided weakness, severe allergic swelling, or a painful blistering or peeling rash. Contact your oncology team promptly if vomiting prevents fluids, pain limits movement, mood symptoms feel unsafe, or a new symptom is quickly getting worse.
