What should you know about left hand ring finger numb?

The ring finger shares sensation between nerve territories, so numbness may come from the ulnar nerve near the elbow or wrist, a nerve root in the neck, or less commonly pressure higher in the shoulder and chest. Cubital tunnel syndrome presents with numbness or tingling in the ring and small fingers, especially when the elbow stays bent. Cervical radiculopathy presents with neck-related nerve symptoms that can travel into the arm or hand. Hand position during sleep, prolonged leaning on an elbow, repetitive gripping, or a recent injury can also irritate a nerve. A symptom pattern does not establish its cause by itself.

Notice whether the feeling is tingling, reduced touch, burning, or complete loss of sensation, and record when it starts. Avoid leaning on the elbow or keeping it sharply bent for long periods.
