Laser tattoo removal hypopigmentation: what to know

The laser targets tattoo particles, but heat and inflammation can temporarily affect melanin-producing cells around the ink. The treated skin may look lighter than the surrounding area, especially after redness fades. Healing is not always even across a tattoo, and colour can look more noticeable after tanning nearby skin.

Ask for review if the pale area is expanding, painful, itchy, scaly or still prominent after the expected healing period.
