What should you know about laser skin pen?

The pen-like handpiece delivers laser energy in a selected pattern. The clinician chooses the wavelength, intensity, and coverage according to your skin concern, treatment area, and tendency to develop darker marks after inflammation. The treated skin may feel warm, look red, or become dry and flaky as it settles. Laser resurfacing can be considered for texture changes linked with acne, sun-damaged skin, or enlarged-looking pores, but it does not erase every mark or stop new acne from forming.

Pigment concerns need particular care. Melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation can become more noticeable after irritation, so the diagnosis and energy settings matter.

Before treatment, disclose recent tanning, active rashes, cold sores, medicines, and any history of prolonged darkening after a skin injury. Follow the clinic's instructions about pausing irritating products. Afterward, cleanse gently, use the recommended bland moisturiser, avoid picking flakes, and protect treated skin from sunlight. Do not add glycolic acid or other exfoliants until your clinician says the barrier has recovered.

Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain is worsening rather than settling, redness is spreading, swelling is marked, blisters appear, or the area develops pus, fever, or rapidly changing discoloration. Seek urgent medical help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty or other signs of a severe allergic reaction.
