What should you know about lamelle chemical peel?

Chemical peels are applied to clean skin for a planned contact time, then removed or allowed to finish according to the product. The sensation can include warmth, tingling or stinging. The depth of exfoliation affects recovery: superficial treatments may cause dryness and light flaking, while stronger treatments need more careful supervision.

Peels may be considered for acne, comedonal acne, keratosis pilaris, melasma, sun-damaged skin, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or sun spots. A consultation should distinguish active infection, irritation and pigment conditions that need a different approach.

Tell the clinician about retinoids, exfoliating products, recent procedures, cold sores, eczema, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any tendency to develop dark marks after irritation. Do not apply a peel at home unless the product and instructions are specifically intended for that use.

After treatment, use the recommended gentle cleanser and moisturiser, avoid picking flakes, and protect treated skin from sunlight with clothing and a suitable sunscreen. Pause other irritating actives until the clinician says they can resume. Glycolic acid is one possible peel material, but the formulation and concentration determine how it behaves.

Contact the treating clinic for intense or worsening pain, marked swelling, blistering, spreading redness, pus or pigment change that continues to worsen. Seek urgent care for facial swelling with breathing difficulty or eye exposure to peel solution.

Ask which acid and depth are planned, what improvement is realistic, how long peeling may last, which products to stop, and how your history of pigmentation or sensitivity changes the plan.
