What should you know about labiaplasty with fat transfer?

Labiaplasty removes or reshapes selected labial tissue. Fat transfer uses fat taken from another body area, processes it, and places it where added fullness is planned. Combining them may address tissue shape and volume in one treatment plan, but the suitability depends on anatomy, symptoms, goals, and general health.

Expect swelling, bruising, tenderness, altered sensitivity, and temporary asymmetry while the area heals. The transferred fat can change in volume as the body absorbs some of it, and the final appearance takes time to settle. A consultation should include alternatives and the possibility that the planned result may need adjustment.

Choose a qualified clinician experienced in intimate surgery and fat grafting. Discuss anaesthesia, incision care, donor-site healing, pain relief, activity restrictions, and who to contact outside office hours. Share all medicines, allergies, smoking or vaping, and plans for pregnancy or major weight change.

After surgery, follow instructions for cleaning and dressings, use loose clothing, and avoid friction, heavy exertion, sexual activity, and swimming until cleared. Attend every review appointment. Contact the surgical team for worsening rather than improving pain, spreading redness, pus, wound separation, fever, a sudden change in swelling, or difficulty passing urine. Seek urgent care for uncontrolled bleeding, faintness, breathing difficulty, chest pain, or sudden severe pain.

Ask which part of the procedure addresses your concern, what recovery is expected at the labia and donor site, how sensation may change, what alternatives exist, how complications are treated, and when you can return to work, exercise, and intimacy.
