What should you know about Kybella fillers?

Kybella is used for a defined pocket of submental fat. Dermal fillers are placed in selected tissues to add volume, support contours, or soften particular lines. Because they work in opposite directions, a filler is not a substitute for Kybella, and Kybella cannot replace volume where a face looks hollow.

A clinician assesses skin laxity, fat distribution, facial proportions, and the result you want. Kybella injections can cause swelling, tenderness, bruising, firmness, numbness, and temporary unevenness. The treated contour changes gradually rather than appearing immediately after the appointment.

Describe the change you want in plain terms and disclose every previous filler or injectable treatment, including the area and approximate timing. Ask for a plan that identifies the layer being treated and explains how the procedures would be sequenced if more than one concern exists. Follow aftercare instructions and avoid arranging another facial procedure before the injector confirms that healing is adequate.

Contact the clinic about increasing warmth, redness, drainage, fever, severe pain, or swelling that is becoming more pronounced. Get urgent help for breathing or swallowing problems, rapidly expanding swelling, or new facial weakness. A firm or growing lump should be assessed instead of being labelled as either filler or Kybella without examination.
