What should you know about KP rash treatment?

A rash is a visible response, not a single diagnosis. Moisture and friction may drive intertrigo, heat can block sweat ducts, and contact dermatitis may follow a new cosmetic, detergent or fabric. Atopic dermatitis and psoriasis need approaches that calm inflammation while supporting the skin barrier. Ringworm needs an antifungal plan, while scabies requires treatment advice for the person and relevant contacts. A drug rash needs prompt review of the suspected medicine rather than casual self-treatment.

Clean gently with lukewarm water, pat dry and apply a bland, fragrance-free moisturiser. Keep folds cool and dry, wear loose breathable clothing, and avoid rubbing or scratching. Avoid using leftover steroid, antibiotic or antifungal creams unless a clinician recommends them for this episode; these treatments have different uses and can alter the appearance of a rash.

Get urgent help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or tongue, faintness, widespread blistering or peeling, purple non-blanching spots, severe pain, high fever, or rash affecting the eyes or mouth. Arrange medical review for a rash that is spreading, infected-looking, recurrent, or linked to a newly started medicine.
