Kisqali and letrozole: what to know

Kisqali is a targeted medicine that blocks proteins called cyclin-dependent kinases, which can slow the division of some cancer cells. Letrozole is an Aromatase Inhibitor Drug that lowers the body's production of oestrogen after menopause. Together, the medicines address different signals that can support hormone-sensitive breast cancer.

This combination is not suitable for everyone. The oncology team considers the cancer's hormone receptors, previous treatments, liver and kidney health, heart rhythm history, other medicines, and pregnancy potential. The treatment plan may include breaks or dose changes based on examination and test results.

Take each medicine exactly as prescribed and keep a current list of medicines, supplements, and allergies. Contact your oncology team urgently for a fever, chills, sore throat, or other possible infection while taking Kisqali. Seek emergency help for fainting, chest pain, severe breathlessness, facial swelling, or a fast or irregular heartbeat. Do not wait for the next routine appointment if symptoms are sudden or severe.
